Stardew Valleys: What every newbie should know

Stardew Valley is one of my favorite games, filled with twists and turns, ever ongoing adventures, new events, and a plethora of other characteristics that keep you hooked!

If you want to play you’ll want to know a few basics about the game. As fellow player, know I’ve got you covered!

THE BEGINNING

It all starts when you decide to take a get-away from your monotonous life at Joja Mart, taking your grandpa’s invitation to claim his old farm, and start a new life in a little town.

Avatar

Choose your avatar carefully as the looks you pick will determine what you look like for the rest of the game! If you think your avatar looks a little plain and you’re wondering how to add accessories, that comes later once you get further into the game, so hold on to your horses! Make sure to pick the name of your farm, and a pet.

Your little farm!

Welcome to your farm fellow player! You get to choose what you grow here according to the season. Make sure you plant the correct produce in the correct season, or they’ll die and you will have wasted your money! You can forage on your farm, watch the TV in your house to check the weather, learn new recipes, and craft items to put on your farm. You can also check your mail inbox for notifications on events and certain quests. Sound like fun right?

Now that you know the bare minimum let’s talk about the wider aspects of the game!
