If you go to Rome without seeing the colosseum it’s like you didn’t even visit Rome at all! The colosseum is one of the standing monuments of Rome. Used in the past for the entertainment of the public. It used to have a compartment that was able to flood the colosseum and have mock naval battles. It hosted plays, and combats. It is a massive testament to the will of humans to do what they set their mind too.

Circus maximus

The circus maximus is a great place to go! This was first an agricultural area but was later used for cultural and political strength. It used to host chariot races, so from your deepest imagination hear the horses of old, and the shouts and cheers, as the chariots ride around. Or configure the thrills of animal hunts and gruesome gladiator fights, as well as terrible public executions. Think of it in a historical perspective and you could find yourself teetering on a wavering chariot holding on for dear life to the reigns.

If you want to get your steps in what other place to do this than the Spanish Steps! It was completed in 1725, and it was not financed by the Spanish instead by the French, it was called the Spanish Steps because it connected the Bourbon Spanish Embassy, and the Trinita dei Monti to the Holy See. A word of warning, don’t sit on the steps! You could be charged a fine, and if found eating and sitting on the steps can result in a hundreds of euros fine! The Spanish Steps is still a wonderful place to go to, my family enjoyed climbing down it when we went there! (Because going downstairs is always better than going up.)
