During the summer we went to a fun stem camp! During the end of this stem camp we went to main event! I’m very familiar with this place! I’ve went more than 3 times but this time was different from all the others. When it was time to leave we were faced with a delay an obstical course! How could this be fixed? Would I be left behind while the bus zoomed away?! Here’s how it started…

It was an average morning, the sun was out and we’re woken up by our dad early in the morning(not too early!). When all of my family except my brother was awake we hurried to my brother’s room( his name is Peter) there was this tinge of excitement all around. We sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him! When we were done singing and the gift was given( a Nintendo gift card) we hurried down stairs and when we looked in the fridge we saw the birthday cake that my mom made, YES, MY MOM MADE THE CAKE! It’s Fortnite styled, if you want to hear the story of my brother’s birthday you can in “My brother’s birthday post”, which is coming soon! Another reason I was excited is that…… wait for it…….Now! WERE GOING TO MAIN EVENT! It’s a place were you can host events, it’s also an arcade place with special add ons if you pay extra! Or it may just come with the event you choose. I was happy to be going to main event, but one word of this makes you shiver………THE BUS. It’s THE BUS not bus. You do not want to get on THE BUS late it leaves strictly at 7:00 AM. We almost got left behind once. After we got on THE BUS that takes us to our stem camp every day, we arrived at 9:00 at the stem camp. After that we hopped on another bus to main event, it was a long ride. When we got off the bus I was excited! This would be so much fun! We went inside the building, got seated by our host, spent some time chilling with our group members, then….. went BOWLING!

Bowling was fun for me (Jewel) I started with 6 points then zip for like 4 plays. Eventually I managed to knock down all the pins. After I found out why bowling was hard for me! Almost everyone else had bummers which blocked the bowling balls from getting into the gutter. For Pearl ( she’s my sister)she said she was doing a good job bowling, for her when bowling ended she was in the middle of a game we then again went to the party room where our host lead us to and waited for food and drinks. We waited and waited, then finally we got pizza and lemonade.Mmmmmmmm.

After eating we were allowed to play and register for special activities. My sister Jewel and I registered for laser tag and obstacle course, which is in the air. After registering we went to play the games they provided in main event! We played a snowboard game, where you’d stand on a board shaped like a well…..snowboard, and there was a screen before you. Basically you had to twist and turn to avoid and get objects. We also played basket ball games, and air hockey, they goal is to get a plastic puck into another persons goal. We were almost always checking the time to see If laser tag was starting. Laser tag was awesome! First we had to put on our vest with the guns, then watch a video showing how to use it. Then we ran into the laser tag area and began getting people with our laser equipment. My laser tag team was rocking it, we ruled the second story of the laser tag place and I was easily getting people again and again. I can’t remember which team won but I’m pretty sure it’s my team. My sister was on the other team, and we were rivals. She got me a LOT while I was playing, but I made sure to get her a LOT too. Another thing was that while we were waiting to go into laser tag I saw some people with ice cream or treats and wondered, “How come I didn’t get that?”. After Laser Tag my sister and I went to play more arcade games, it was fun we had a good time! Finally it was time to go on the obstacle course, it was so cool, it even had a zip line! We were excited to go! I was suddenly worried about going up, first of all our counselors from camp kept telling the counselor who was with us that we should go on the bus. The counselor with us said she had permission to go with us on the obstacle course, even though it was close to the time we were supposed to be leaving. We harnessed up with the help of some main event workers and took off on the obstacle course. It was a bit scary because as you can imagine I was over the ground on an obstacle course where you could see how high up you were from the GROUND. So high……. I had to pull myself together. Especially when one of the counselor with us said that we have to hurry up. Since the bus ride is taking us to camp THEN driving us home it’s a LOOOOOOOONG bus ride, especially because from camp to home is about 2 hours! So I really could afford to be late.I hurried through the obstacle course even though I had the fear of falling.

I finally got to the last the thing I needed to do, be brave, I told myself! Before I knew it the zip line was right in front of me. When I go to the zip line and was pulling the strip above my harness, something was blocking it from going. I knew we couldn’t afford to lose much time, suddenly I was able to push my harness to the zip line and was left with the last obstacle right before me. The platform disagreed where I was standing, would I go? Would I push myself to swoon through the air, or just stand there pondering? I would GO! As I zoomed through the air on the zip line I wasn’t scared, I actually felt calm. I got out of my harness when I came back down to the ground and waited for the others, then we quickly left. The only thing I missed out on was my group picture with my color group. I still had a amazing experience it left me ZOOMING for more!
